What I do

Even with being a writer of sorts, it’s tricky to stick a label on what I do but here’s a few that I’ve played with over the years:

Poetry Activist/Literature Developer/Reader Developer/Tutor/Educator/ Space Curator/Arts Facilitator/Arts Manager/Project Leader/Literacy Advocate/Festival Director/Associate Producer….

I was told by a 7 year old student once “book lady you make words happen” so I think that just about sums it up!

Over the last few years I have focused on literacy development; developing a literacy project for St Lukes, writing a Literacy Toolkit and developing the literacy strategy for Go Goldfields as well as running the Read Along Dads project in Loddon Prison.

Simmone Howell and Lisa D'OnofrioI have also been leading Creative Journaling workshops, with the author Simmone Howell (seen with me on the left)for adults and young people, most recently for Signal.
